ABOUT US

A note from Matt

Matt Sleith, director of Palace Construction, Lower Hutt builder

When I started Palace in 2021, the idea was pretty simple: build things properly, look after the people around you, and make sure our clients finish their build having actually enjoyed the process. I was lucky enough to learn my craft under some incredible builders and got to work on some amazing, award-winning projects. Quality construction excites me, and I love working each day to deliver above and beyond our clients' expectations.

Building is a huge investment, but it doesn't need to be stressful. We manage our projects so you don't have to. We work diligently before your contract is signed, so there are no surprises throughout the build. We've worked really hard to fine-tune our preliminary and project management processes, and it shows in the results (see what our clients say). Clear plans, regular catch-ups and a team that cares about the details go a long way. We listen, we're honest about what's possible, and we care about the finished result as much as you do. Your home is a big deal, and we treat it that way.

And it's not just our clients we look after. Our team enjoys coming to work, they back each other and take real pride in what they build. When the people on site are happy, it shows in the work.

Most of our work comes through word of mouth, and I'm grateful to every client who's trusted us with their home and sent their friends our way. We want the best for everyone involved in a Palace job, and that's never going to change.

If you've got something in mind, I'd love to have a chat.

THE TEAM

The people on your site

Most of the team grew up in the Hutt Valley, and some of the friendships go back nearly 20 years. It's a tight crew, and we bring that to every job.

GOOD TO KNOW

What does LBP actually mean?

To carry out restricted building work, by law you must be a Licensed Building Practitioner with the appropriate licence class for the project. Restricted building work (RBW) is work on a building's structure or weathertightness that requires a building consent. RBW follows the standard council inspection and Code Compliance Certificate process, and we handle all of this for you.

When the job's done, the LBP gives you and the council a record of work. It's your proof the work was done by someone qualified and accountable.

Thanks for getting in touch! We'll be in contact soon to talk about your project.
